NetStar-1 Awarded Major Program at US Department of Labor

September, 2005 - NetStar-1, Inc. (Rockville, MD) has been awarded a five-year contract to provide a wide range of professional services to DoL’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM). This competitively-awarded contract brings together several independent projects that had been performed by NetStar-1 and other vendor staffs during the past few years. Areas of technology include network and system management, storage planning, user support, and security operations.

A total of approximately 50 staffers are expected to be brought on by NetStar-1 as it takes responsibility for a wide range of highly-visible support and operations projects. Some of the team will be in key DoL locations around the United States, providing end-user support and coordination with DoL-headquarters management.

NetStar-1’s President and CEO, Bill Strang, issued the following statement regarding the OASAM OTS program award. “NetStar-1 has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the Department of Labor’s technical and management objectives during the past two and a half years. Our on-site team has shown its value to the customer, and we’re happy to receive this award. We’re really appreciative of the confidence that the Department of Labor has placed in NetStar-1, and we’re absolutely certain that we’ll meet the high expectations that the customer has placed in us.”

The program will migrate into an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) based project, after an initial transition task period of Time and Materials based performance.
