NetStar-1 Awarded Five-Year National Park Service BPA Valued up to $100 Million

The NetStar-1 Company Will Provide IT Services to NPS National Information Technology Center and National Information Systems Center

Rockville, Md. – May 15, 2008 – The Department of Interior National Park Service (NPS) has awarded OPTIMUS Corporation, a NetStar-1 company, a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide information technology services to the NPS National Information Technology Center (NITC) and National Information Systems Center (NISC). The five-year multiple award BPA has a value of up to $100 million.

The NITC organization, located in Washington, DC, is responsible for NPS topology and technology. OPTIMUS will provide support for NITC computers, equipment, firmware, and related procedures and services.

NISC is located in Denver and is responsible for Web portal management, system development and life cycle, messaging and groupware, Geographic Information Systems, data architecture, and business architecture. OPTIMUS will assist NISC in identifying information needs and acquiring, organizing, distributing and storing information, developing information products and services, and using information in the advancement of NPS information systems.

OPTIMUS will also support the NPS IT Security Program with certification and accreditation of NPS systems and applications; manage a contingency planning process; develop a training program; and coordinate computer security incident reporting and response with the Department of Interior and other federal agencies.
